Staying Positive ♡

For a few years I was very pessimistic and had a very low self-esteem. I was usually paranoid that everyone was talking or laughing about me. As of right now, I feel comfortable in my own skin and I am more hopeful about life. I have a full on "IDGAF" attitude. If you're wondering how I overcame my insecurities and defeatist ways, here is a list of how I stay positive. I hope they help you in any way!

1. Set goals for yourself. If you set a goal, you'll have something to look forward. Goals will give you a reason to stop expecting failure.

2. Remember that everyone has flaws. You might not find these flaws on people, but they certainly see them on themselves.

3. Find a hobby. I obviously invest my time on social media but I also want to get more involved with school activities. Music is a good outlet to express emotions, use it.

4. Stop letting the negative things affect you. YOU create your life and you can change it in any way you want.

5. Find time to release the stress in your body, exercise is a great way to release it. When I say exercise, it does not have to be vigorous activities, it could be a walk, a jog, or riding your bike.

6. Fix any relationships that might have been stained from your downbeat attitude. I have been fixing my relationships with my parents and siblings.

7. Try being more social. I remember purposely ignoring anyone who even looked at me. Now I can talk to friends, peers, strangers, and professionals with out stuttering or getting paranoid.

8. Appreciate the human body. You will never find two individuals with the exact same body. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, not what your body type is expected to wear.

9. Express your emotions whenever and to whomever if the situation is appropriate. It isn't good to keep your feelings in a bubble.

10. Although you are setting goals for yourself, stay in the moment. Don't think about things that could ruin your day, week, or year. Think about what could make you happier in that moment, and be open to happiness.
